Diotec’s MMDTC907DW-AQ: Integrated Switching for Automotive Actuator Applications

Modern vehicles rely on a large number of electrically controlled functions. From door locks and relay drivers to interior and exterior lighting, many of these applications use compact actuators, solenoids or small motors that simply need to be switched on and off reliably. A typical low-side switching stage may require a transistor together with external bias components. In a conventional discrete implementation, this can mean a transistor and two resistors: one to define the base current and another to ensure the transistor remains reliably off when the control signal is inactive.

When this circuit is repeated across an automotive electronic control unit, the component count, PCB area and assembly requirements can quickly become significant.

Two Switching Channels in One Compact Package

Diotec Semiconductor addresses this requirement with the MMDTC907DW-AQ, a dual pre-biased NPN transistor designed for compact switching applications in automotive electronics.

The device integrates two 50 V, 100 mA NPN transistors, with the associated bias resistors incorporated into the semiconductor package.
