Advanced Cell Engineering files patent for VLF LFP battery cell

Advanced Cell Engineering (ACE), a developer and licensor of next-generation high energy density battery cell technology, has filed a patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its very large format (VLF) cell. The patent filing represents a key milestone in the company’s “Project Magnus,” in which ACE will finalize cell design and chemistry for a highly efficient, 1-meter cell-to-pack prismatic cell. This is ACE’s fourth patent application in the last six months.

onsemi and Ampt collaboration increases efficiency for utility solar providers

onsemi, a specialist in intelligent power and sensing technologies, and Ampt LLC, a global DC optimizer company for large-scale PV solar and energy storage systems, have announced their collaboration to meet the high demand for DC string optimizers. Ampt uses onsemi’s N-Channel SiC MOSFET, part of the EliteSiC family of SiC technologies, in its DC string optimizers for critical power switching applications.

Bosch starts volume production of its fuel-cell power module

Bosch is entering the hydrogen age of mobility. At its Stuttgart-Feuerbach location, the supplier of technology and services has now begun volume production of its fuel-cell power module. Nikola Corporation, based in the United States, will serve as the pilot customer with its Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell electric truck, which is scheduled to enter the North American market in the third quarter of 2023.
