Autonomous Logistic Robots – Driven by P Channel MOSFETs DI077P06D1
This innovative robotic product can automate the transport of pallets. A battery powers it and it acts as a fully autonomous vehicle. The logistic software tells the robot where to pick up the pallet and where to transport it. It is almost 24/7 operation interrupted by loading breaks to charge the 12 V batteries. That happens in less than two hours of recharging for eight working hours or just 20% off-duty time. Unlike human stockkeepers, it does not need to sleep and move even heavy pallets without the risk of getting a painful strain trauma.
The H-Bridge motor controller, which allows the robot's DC motor to run forward or backward, is equipped with a combination of N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs. The advantage of using P types on the high side is the very easy way of controlling them without the need to use isolated high-side Gate drivers. Diotec’s P-channel MOSFET DI077P06D1 in TO-252AA (D-PAK) has offered a continuous Drain current of 45 A at 100°C and an impressive peak of 328 A. The typical on-state resistance of 11.5 mΩ helps to save energy and thus prolongs battery service time. With a threshold voltage of -1.3 V to -2.6 V, the DI077P06D1 can be easily driven to a 5 V logic level.
