TVS diode TPSMA6L20A by Diotec avoids voltage peaks in Floor Cleaning Machines

Floor cleaning machines are time-saving and automate the cleaning process, particularly in public areas such as airports, schools, shopping malls, large offices, and hospitals. They are used for hygiene purposes and to maintain cleanliness in high-traffic areas. These machines reduce pathogenic bacteria and provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Floor cleaning machines are typically operated on 12 V power batteries, which supply several DC motors for the drive, the rotating brush, and the pumps for spraying and sucking the cleaning water. To stop the DC motor immediately after turn-off and to avoid voltage peaks across the motor coil, each of them is equipped with a parallel Transient Voltage Suppressor diode (TVS). The 'TPSMA6L20A' by Diotec comes in the slim case outline SMAF, measuring just 1.2 mm in height. It acts as a free-wheeling diode for the motor coil and protects the cleaner's electronics against voltage transients. It offers a peak pulse power capability of 600 W and supports the longevity and reliability of the floor-cleaning machine.
